FlatLand Resources played a crucial role as the design-build contractors and site design visionary in the creation of the John M. Craddock Wetland Nature Preserve. The 16-acre site is adjacent to an abandoned industrial area and serves as a key environmental resource for the region. The project was completed between FlatLand Resources and students at Ball State University. FlatLand Resources acted as project manager and secured funding from local, state, and federal sources to complete the development of the site. This included overseeing, managing, and completing construction of the pavilion at the center of the trail, and the bridges, walkways, and fences as well as the establishment of naturalized spaces.
The wetland preserve serves as a local source for nature education. All within the 16 acre site, visitors can experience a prairie, a woods, and a wetland. The wetland serves as a home for many plants and wildlife. Right off the White River greenway, the preserve was also designed to accommodate visitors arriving by foot or by bike.
