This advert changed the way people viewed adverts as it was the first advert that was more like a movie as it was 7 minutes long and was released on Youtube. It was for the World Cup 8 years ago. It features all of soccer's most likable stars that are sponsored by Nike such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, etc. It showcases their skills and tells a story about how soccer is regarded as The Beautiful Game and players like that can never be replaced.
It employs animation to deliver a message meaning it can appeal to a wider audience such as children or people who are interested and can appreciate the art of animation. It depicts a future where the magic of soccer is lost and the advert highlights how human flair and mistakes cannot be replaced. This has a hidden message that allows the viewers to connect with the stars as they are also human whether the media depicts them as that or not.
The reason why I was so captivated by this advert and wanted to write about it is because I first read it when it first came out when I was 14 years old and felt as if I was watching a short film. It was the first advert that made me think about buying soccer boots because of how good I thought the advert was and how all the stars I had grown up watching were on the same screen playing together.
