On May 23, 2026 I attempted to respool 120 format film onto a 620 spool. My reson for respooling was the 120 film was simply too tall for the Kodak Brownie Target Six-60. In the past clippling the edges off the 120 spool worked with no further modification. I did see an online video where the ends of the spool were sanded down to shorten the spool. I gave that a try but it still did not fit into the camera properly. This led to my first respooling of 120 to 620.
I set up in our laundry room and even used a black garbage bag for total darkness. What I forgot was to remove my watch before proceeding. My watch has hands that illuminate when in total darkness. I suspect this illumination will have effected the film stock. I will say that I found the process of respooling a little hard on the fingers and hands but it did not take too long and I think I did everything else correctly.
The film has now been loaded into the camera for shooting.
