Given the number of film cameras I've collected in a relatively short period of time you may think I buy every camera I come across. I created this page to prove that is NOT true. Here you will see photos of cameras I didn't buy and the locations I dicovered them.

Hosted at the St. John's Farmers Market I came across this beautiful YashicaFlex camera that almost found its way home with me. He had it priced at $120 and I asked him what his best price may be he said $80. Normally, I would have jumped at that price but I decided to check it out a little closer. Earlier this week I picked up a Rolleicord Vb for $160 getting another TLR camera for half that price was tempting. However, the closer inspection showed a possible fatal flaw with the lens plane. It appears to not be parallel with the body of the camera. Turning the focus knob moves it forward and backward and that was when I noticed its movement issues. Then I noticed it rocked back and forth. A little research on my phone revealed it to be a serious issue and maybe not easily fixed by an amateur like myself. Sadly, I did not take a pic showing the problem.

They were also selling a tiny Falcon Minature 127 Film Format camera. Tex's (seller) son was with him and asked me if I knew much about cameras. I said I was in the process of learning about them. He asked about the Falcon. They were not aware of how to load film in the Falcon. Opening the back of the camera I could see why. There appeared to be nowhere to load film when the back cover was open. Like a Brownie Hawkeye the film plane was visible but the guts were behind this and pulling up the film advance knob released the mechanism. He thanked me for schooling him on the process. 

You can take the teacher out of the classroom but not the classroom out of the teacher. That sounded clearer in my head than it does printed here.
