CEO of Implenia, Jens Vollmar
As we strive for a bigger and brighter future, Implenia's board of directors have officially appointed Jens Vollmar as it's new leading CEO that is to succeed Andre Wyss in the following year. His commitment to the company as indicated by his years at Implenia as the head of division building has showed his commitments to create a brighter and more environmentally friendly world for all of us.
SDG Goal 9 and 11
As the world further develops into one that is more environmentally focused, Implenia is keeping up with such changing times. We devote ourselves focusing on the SDG goals 9 and 11 which are "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure" and "Sustainable Cities and Communities" respectively. We chose to mainly focus on these two SDGs as we, as a company, directly influence these SDGs with our construction projects. To create a world where we can live harmoniously with nature is our goal at Implenia.
Sustainable Building Materials
As per our sustainability report, we at Implenia have been constantly implementing the substitution of bricks in construction in favor for timber (page 37). Not only does building out of food produce less grey energy (the total amount of energy used to produce a product) but if locally sourced, greenhouse gas emissions are significantly lowered as compared to concrete or bricks. Wood, unlike bricks and concrete is also easily replaced and recycled.

Now let’s take a look at Implenia’s implementation of renewable energy in housing. We partnered and worked together with renewable energy focused company, Green-Y to allow the use of renewable energy to be efficiently used in housing. With Green-Y’s compressed air energy storage technology that works by using the heat produced from compressing air as heating for the house, we are now able to provide oil-free heating and cooling to entire housings.
