NHS members and other clubs helped set up and run the special education Halloween dance
NHS Officers Hannah, Sophie, and Nihar led the campaign to help facilitate the Fairfield Special Education Halloween Dance. Besides playing games and dancing, the NHS members collected candy to distribute to their fellow students.
The Fairfield Chapter of the National Honor Society committed to a goal this year: unite the clubs of Fairfield, increase their membership, and lead students to community service opportunities.
The 2025 - 2026 school year has started off with a BANG!!!
The National Honor Society working with Asian American Association (AAA), Latin American Student Alliance (LASA), and the African Student Union (ASU) hosted "Club Night" at the boys soccer senior night. The three clubs (with money donated by NHS) cooked and shared food from around the world with parents, players, and spectators. The event was so successful that Coach Manny asked if the clubs could do it again for the boys home playoff game the following week: the students did not disappoint. Both nights were successful feasts that allowed students to show off their culinary skills. Oh, and the boys (who represent numerous countries from around the world) won both games.
Fairfield NHS Chapter Wins National Award for Service
For its exemplary record of leadership, service, and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Honor Society (NHS) recently awarded Fairfield High School NHS chapter the Service Award of Excellence.
Members of the group were honored during the first half of last Friday’s football game against Mason at Alumni Stadium.
The NHS Chapter Pillar Awards celebrate chapters that “embody what the National Honor Society stands for – students who don’t just excel academically but actively strengthen their communities. The Fairfield H.S. chapter demonstrates how powerful it can be when young leaders channel their talents toward meaningful service and positive change.”
The chapter is being recognized for the following service projects:
* Running the NHS tutoring center
* Financially aiding a girl in Guatemala through the Unbound non-profit
* Supporting all the multicultural nights in the district with volunteering
* Organizing the school’s clubs to assist them in obtaining community service for seals
* Fundraising for causes by painting the senior parking spots.
Of the over 17,000 active chapters of the National Honor Society around the world, only 77 schools were awarded the NHS Service Award of Excellence.
Of the 77 schools awarded, only nine of the schools were from Ohio.
Fairfield, alone, represents Southwest Ohio.
The following officers spearheaded the drive for this award:
* Co-Presidents: Nihar Patel and Brandon Valenzuela
* Peer Tutoring Coordinators: Hannah Malamisuro, Mia Hamilton, Kyndle Ledbetter, Sophie McDaniel, and Abby McKinney
* Community Service Coordinator: Tatum Jones
* Social Media Coordinator: Mariah Williams

Big NHS News:
Star student 1st in more than dozen years to win Ivy League award
For the second year in a row, the Fairfield chapter of the National Honor Society financially supported the third annual multicultural night. Also, members helped support the event with service by assisting the primary clubs running the show: Asian American Association, African Student Union, and the newly formed Latin American Student Alliance. With the assistance of NHS, the multicultural night has the footing to become a hallmark event of Fairfield's clubs that promote service, diversity, and fellowship.
Unfortunately, and tragically, life reminds us of its fragility. This year we lost a former member and officer. She was a wonderful person, student, member, and officer; Kaitlyn will be missed.
