I am very thankful to you and happy to have been chosen as your sponsored friend. I will cover some of my education expenses with the funds that you will be sending like school fees and my transportation to school.

I am in the 7th grade this year, and I have not failed any subjects in the last quarters. Now I am having some difficulty with mathematics and social studies, but I am taking some backup classes. My favorite subject is artistic expression, and I am learning how to draw using the vanishing point technique.

My family has six members; my father's name is Pedro, and he is 50 years old and works as a bricklayer's helper. My mother's name is Maria, and she is a housewife; she is 42 years old. My siblings are Junior (20), who works, Evelyn (18), who studies, and Cristofer (16) who also studies. I am Cindy, and I am 14 yeards old. Thank God, we are all in good health.

My favorite food is called pepian (a traditional meaty, spicy stew with a wealth of roasted spices blended together), and I also like pizza; my favorite color is pink, and my favorite fruits are strawberries. My favorite ice cream is chocolate chips. in my spare time, I help wash dishes, sweep, and mop the floor.

We have a dog named Isha and a cat named Tomy at home.

I cordially greet you and this is your sponsored friend, Cindy. I want to wish you all many blessings.

I am very happy that you are in good health, your letter brought me a lot of happiness knowing that you are well, and I am happy to hear from you. I loved your very beautiful photos, it gives me a lot of happiness.

I want to tell you that my family and I are happy to be able to hear from you, especially me. The new thing I can tell you is that my whole family is in good health, thank God. I am very happy because I did well in my studies with a lot of effort and my parents are very happy since I passed the grade. Next year I will be in eighth grade. Let me share with you that the language and mathematics class was very difficult. I did not understand them much, but I was solving my doubts, thank God. I can say that I already passed my school year because my goal was able to achieve it and that gives me joy knowing that I achieved it. Regarding my artistic techniques, I want to tell you that I continue to practice drawing a little.

My favorite classes are art class, social sciences, natural sciences and technology. I am learning about the planets and what the world was like before. The last activities we have done are to present. I participate in doing civic events, take care of some plants that my schoolmates and I have planted at school. We have gone out to play sports and I like to play soccer.

My family and I have been very happy and spent time going out to play soccer. It has been very fun and on the weekends we get together to talk, laugh and tell joke a lot. I feel safe with them. I thank you very much for the monthly contribution you provide to me since I thank you from the bottom of my heart since I use it for my studies that I need for school.

I cordially greet you. I am your sponsored friend Cindy. I want to wish you a lot of blessings.

I am happy that you are in good health. Your letter made me happy to hear from you. I was happy for your photos, so they are beautiful, and they make me happy. Answering your questions, I tell you that my vacation was excellent since I spent time with my family, and we went to visit my grandparents.

Yes, I took a break from my studies and relaxed well and de-stressed, so the vacation served me a lot. I also want to tell you that my family and I are happy to be able to hear from you, especially me as your sponsored friend. I also want to share with you that my whole family and I are in good health, thank God. I am little sick but I am already taking medication. I am happy because last year I passed the school grade with a lot of effort. Also answering you questions, my favorite foods are hilachas (a popular Guatemalan dish made of cooked and shredded beef that is simmered in a mildly spicy tomatillo-tomato sauce), and pizza, so I love them. I also want to tell you about my favorite activities, I like to sing and at the same time dance. At the school, we do not have a civic event day at the moment but we will have one very soon and we will sing the Guatemalan anthem.

I started studying on January 10. Well, about home activities and favorite activities, I want to tell you that my family and I have done activities together spending time in the family, we have played banco poly (It is a board game that invites Guatemalans to learn about and value the tourist destinations that represent each department) together, and we have gone out to play soccer from time to time. I also want to share with you that I am already in the eighth grade. I will be in the ninth grade next year. I will make an effort to move on to the next grade and not fail any school year.

These days I am learning how to make documents and presentations in technology, and I have done well. I am looking at addition of polynomials and subtraction of polynomials in math class. In language class, I am making a presentation since I chose the topic of abortion and I have to explain it to everyone about the topic.

This weekend my family and I organized to play banco poly (It is a board game that invites Guatemalans to learn about and value the tourist destinations that represent each department, and I had a lot of fun doing family activities.

Dear sponsors, I hope you are all doing well.

Thank you very much, sponsors, for your letter. I really enjoyed hearing from you. Thank you for what you told me about my studies, it gave me happiness and gives me a lot of encouragement. Thank you very much for sharing with me about some of the sponsors who support me, it is interesting to know about them.

Xocomil (amusement park) is beautiful, we went to the water games, it is very nice since there are many fun water games. I enjoyed learning more about you. I like to know that you have puppies, I love animals.

For many years it was the first time I went to Xocomil, for me, it was a special day since it was the first time I went with my family.

I liked to know how the weather is there, here the weather has been a little cloudy all day. I liked knowing that Mariah and Hannah have puppies, the animals make a lot of happiness and brighten the day. I was pleased to know that you are in very good health.

I would like to know what your puppies are called? What is your favorite food?

When we are all gathered, my parents, my siblings, and I, what I like the most is that we feel happy since we share time with the family. We like to eat everything, but what we like most is to eat beans with cream and eggs.

We are fine thank God, only my dad who had an accident and that makes me sad to see my dad like this. I am doing well thank God in my studies, I am doing my best in my studies since I want my parents and you to feel proud of me.

In the school, we did a play, and we have to perform a dance per grade; it feels nice to do that type of activity. Thank you very much for your words, and I am pleased to know that you are happy to be my sponsors, of course I will be aware.
