The purpose of this ePortfolio is to house key artifacts, reflections, and evidence of learning related to the conduct of my special project, completed as the culmination of my learning throughout my four-year bachelor's program. Its main focus is (1) to document the entire process of conceptualizing and realizing an instructional design project and (2) to present the final instructional design product (i.e., wayfinding map in printed and digital format and online course on how to update the library map) borne out of the said rigorous and iterative process.
Fritzielynn Jaye G. Vigonte is an emerging instructional designer currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Education Studies at the University of the Philippines Open University. She was born and raised in the Province of Bulacan, Philippines, and is now based in the State of Connecticut, USA.
She completed her elementary education at Sanctuario of St. Maria Theresa School, Inc., graduating as valedictorian at age 10. Six years later, she graduated from high school at the same school, again as valedictorian, at age 16. She also served as the President of the Student Government at the same school during her final year of high school.
Currently, she is working as an eLearning and Content Marketing Associate at BrightMind eLearning—the same organization where she worked as an instructional design intern a year prior.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Fritzielynn is deeply passionate about volunteer work. She contributed as a Learning Designer at Rumie, served as a Course Coordinator for UP Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, assisted as a Helpdesk Assistant at the UP Office of Admissions, held the role of External Affairs Officer at UP LAKAN, and served as Vice Chairperson for Publicity at UP ICTUS. She was also the co-project head of UP LAKAN’s flagship initiative, PAMBATANG BUKLATAN 2022: Ang Aklat ay Mapang Kaagapay Tungo sa Rurok ng Tagumpay, which received the “2023 Ignacio B. Gimenez Award for UP Student Organizations’ Social Innovation Projects.”
I dedicate and owe this special project:
To the University of the Philippines Open University, particularly the Faculty of Education, who, for four long and fruitful years, patiently honed me and instilled in me the knowledge, skills, and values that have shaped me into a competent and purpose-driven instructional designer.
To Sir Leynard Gripal, my EDS 199 FIC, who, for over two grueling trimesters, has been an unwavering source of support, guidance, and inspiration.
To the Hamden Public Library, especially Ms. Melissa Canham-Clyne, the Library Director and my external adviser, who provided a space for me to practice my instructional design skills and supported me every step of the way.
To my family, Joey and Flor, who have been my constant source of support financially, emotionally, mentally, physically and in countless other ways.
To the Filipino people who funded my education and to whom I will forever be indebted.
And above all, to God Almighty, this is all for You and all because of You.
