~Feeling Good, Babe Hosts the “New Mothers Seminar” as Part of an Initiative to Help new Mothers learn about what causes Postpartum Depression and what they can do about it.
Salt Lake City, UT - To encourage all Americans to protect the new mothers they love from unintentional suffering, ~Feeling Good, Babe, will host The New Mothers Seminar. The event will take place at The Salt Palace (100 S. West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT) on May 1, 2023 from 10:00AM until 1:00PM and is open to all interested members of the public. Lunch will be served. Babes in arms are welcome.
According to Aliese Salmond and ~Feeling Good, Babe, this is an opportunity to inform new parents in Utah about ways to watch for and cope with Postpartum Depression, one of the biggest struggles new mothers have to adjust to in the United States. “One in seven women will develop Postpartum Depression after giving birth.” -Tornabeni & Aller, 2020. Let’s recognize, talk about, and come to know the face of Postpartum Depression.
The event is being held as part of an initiative to teach mothers to navigate their body changing as they give birth, how they can take care of themselves, and how to reach out to others when they first recognize a pattern of Postpartum Depression. Many women who suffer from Postpartum Depression are deficient in vital nutrients and hormones their bodies need. This lack of nutrients causes Postpartum Depression.
Event activities will include which blood tests to ask for from their doctor, teach them what certain hormones do for their bodies, and what vitamins and nutrients they may be deficient in. Also, how to care for their bodies with love and acceptance. We will introduce loved ones to what signs and symptoms to look for, and how to help your loved one through Postpartum Depression.
About 15% of new mothers in Utah suffer from Postpartum Depression. 60% of those women do not seek professional help. We need to stop this statistic and support new mothers mentally and physically.

###
About ~Feeling Good, Babe. I’m Aliese Salmond, founder of ~Feeling Good, Babe. As a mother of 5 children and having personal experience with Postpartum Depression, I learned that my Postpartum Depression came from a lack of vitamins, minerals, and hormones in my body. As I learned to balance what was going on in my body and gave it time to heal, I began to see the benefits of learning more about hormones after giving birth. This is information I am passionate about and would like all new mothers to know. If you have one child or seven, this is great information to learn and pass on.
