Master Chief Petty Officer Jones hails from Port Jervis, New York. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 2nd, 1994, and completed both Recruit Training and Airman Apprentice School at Naval Training Center Great Lakes in Illinois. Upon graduation, he reported to his first ship in November 1994.
Master Chief Jones’ Sea duty assignments include USS Enterprise (CVN-65), USS Heron (MHC-52), USS Raven (MHC-61), USS Falcon (MHC-59), and his final sea duty was onboard the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) as the Maintenance Coordinator. He has seen multiple deployments to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, and the Red Sea with operations and port visits in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. In addition, he deployed to the Persian Gulf to support Operation Desert Fox, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Ashore, Master Chief Jones served as the Retail Ordnance Logistics Management System Administrator at NAS Brunswick, Submarine Launched Mobile Mine Technician at Mobile Mine Assembly Unit Guam, Fleet Liaison for Mining and UUV/UAV Technologies at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Beach, and Senior Enlisted Advisor for Navy Munitions Command East Asia Division Unit Guam.
Master Chief Jones is designated as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards), the Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Good Conduct Award (8 Awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (1 award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and numerous unit service and campaign awards. He received his BA in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and his MA in Homeland Security from American Military University. He is married with one son.
