The Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program was established in 1964 in accordance with Title 10, U.S. Code, Chapter 102. Father Dueñas Memorial School's Phoenix Company is one of many programs across the nations, taught by high-caliber, retired Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps Officers and Senior Enlisted personnel. The NJROTC program puts cadets through real-life, hands-on learning and classroom instruction to develop leadership potential and instruct on the value of citizenship and civic participation, along with the history and customs of the Department of the Navy. Cadets in the Phoenix Company have the opportunity to participate in different drill teams, compete in academic and athletic competitions, and even learn to navigate over land as a part of the Orienteering Team. As they progress in experience and rank, cadets will undergo the opportunity to take leadership responsibilities and initiative
