The Lightbringer. The Devil. Satan. The Adversary. Lucifer is known by many names, most of them some sort of Bad News. This is for good reason; stuck in the mentality of a petulant child put in time-out by his Father, Lucifer sets his sight on His creations, aiming to corrupt them and bring them to destruction by their own hands, if only to prove that they are less worthy of His love than Lucifer is.
Canon divergence: I write Lucifer pre season-12 which is where I feel the show totally lost the plot with his character. Expect him to be vegeful and petty, but not a joke. He can and will snap you from existence.

MAIN - Pre-season 12, Nick & Lucifer were reunited successfully, but rather than attempting to do anything world-breaking, Lucifer has learned his lesson, so to speak, choosing to corrupt as many people through sin as possible as a way to flip God the finger. To bring attention to himself would attract the Winchesters, and he’s had enough of that shit for a million lifetimes. That’s not to say some of the things he’s responsible for wouldn’t sound some supernatural alarms…

RWBY : The devil comes to Remnant. In this verse Lucifer serves much the same role, as a manipulative creature who takes people’s souls in exchange for granting them wishes. He has the ability to attract Grimm, while weakening the resolve of the people he interacts with. His origin is unknown, but he is likely older than creation itself.
