📝 Project Synopsis:
During my master’s thesis, I investigated the pharmacological potential of the medicinal plant Justicia gendarussa. I isolated key secondary metabolites—beta-sitosterol, 1-monostearin, and lupeol—using chromatographic techniques and confirmed their structures through NMR. These compounds showed significant analgesic, hypoglycemic, antidiarrheal, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities in both in vitro and in vivo (rodent model) experiments.
This experience deepened my interest in natural product-based drug discovery. I’m passionate about exploring nature-derived compounds as potential therapeutic agents and aim to pursue further research in this field, contributing to the development of safe and effective drugs from natural sources.
