Project: Bioinformatics-based biological sciences
Dr. Hwang has been trained to investigate the molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis and migration in gastric cancer. In addition, Dr. Hwang has been trained to develop her techniques in the field of omics including single cell RNA seq, spatiotranscriptomic analysis, and genomics using human PBMC samples from COVID-19 vaccination with myocarditis and colonic tissues from patients with ulcerative colitis. After graduate program, Dr. Hwang has continued her research career as Research Staff in Fang Lab from March 2024.

Project: FXR signaling in Cancer metabolism
#1 Mr. Kim has investigated physiological roles of nuclear receptor FXR signaling that controls cellular energetics to regulate cell survival, ER stress, inflammation and tumorigenesis in colorectal cancer.
#2 Mr. Kim has investigated amino acid metabolic networks that are essential to sustain cancer cell proliferation and survival.

#1 Mr. Jeong is a licensed medical technologist and has investigated molecular mechanisms of how Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) secretion is modulated by nutritional status.
#2 Mr. Jeong has investigated the molecular mechanisms of how epigenetic eraser controls transcriptional networks modulating cellular energetics and tumorigenesis in pancreatic cancer.

#1 Mr. Jeon has examined the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis of metabolic syndromes including insulin resistance and MASH using gut-specific FXR agonist.
#2. Mr. Jeon also has investigated novel molecular mechanisms of anticancer drug resistance in colorectal cancer in response to chemotherapy.

Project: Cellular metabolism in tumor microenvironment of TNBC
#1 Ms. Lee joined Fang Lab from Jul. 2022 as research assistant. She graduated from Yonsei University College of Nursing and is now Ph.D. student in the department of medical science from March 2023. She is currently working on the molecular mechanisms of how Triple-negative breast cancer modifies cellular metabolism for chemo-resistance.
Ye-Chan Park (박예찬), Ph.D. student

Project: Bioinformatics in Lung cancer microenvironment & senescent fibroblast in atopic derma
Mr. Park joined Fang Lab from Mar. 2023 as a research assistant. He is undergraduate student in College of Life and Biotechnology and currently merging and analyzing human and mouse lung cancer microenvironment tissue single cell RNA seqeuncing to identify novel therapeutic target for cancer therapy.
Also, he is interested in identifying novel senescent fibroblast cluster in atopic derma to find novel therapeutic target for atophy.

Yune Huh (허윤)

Project: Machine learning-based novel therapeutic target identification in breast cancer
Mr. Huh joined Fang Lab from Spring 2021 as an undergraduate research assistant. During research mentoring program, Mr. Huh has been analyzing immune profiles of multiple inflammatory diseases including COVID-19. Currently, Mr. Huh has focused on his research theme on Machine learning-based novel therapeutic target identification in breast cancer using numerous public database.
Dongwoo Kang (강동우)

Project: Bioinformatics-based novel therapeutic target identification for inflammatory bowel diseases
Mr. Kang joined Fang Lab from January 2022 as a undergraduate research assistant. During research mentoring program, Mr. Kang has been analyzing immune cells and multiple environmetal cell types of creeping fat from Crohn's disease using single cell RNA sequencing technique. Currently, Mr. Kang has been analyzing spatiotranscriptomic data to identify novel cell-to-cell communications in inflammatory tissues from ulcerative colitis patients to identify early biomarkers to predict pathology of inflammatory bowel disease.
Andrew Kim (김세훈)

Project: Bioinformatics in COPD tissue & immunometabolism
Mr. Kim joined Fang Lab from summer 2021 as a undergraduate research assistant. Even after military service, he re-joined Fang lab and started his research experience with a project related to bioinformatics. Mr. Kim currently has analyzed human and mouse COPD tissue and lung cancer tissues single cell RNA seqeuncing to identify novel relevant biomarkers.
