May

May has arrived at The Downtown School! Although the finish line for the 2018-2019 school is approaching, we have a lot of events and information to share.

Please reach out with any questions!

  • Mr. Burnett

If your student will be attending a different school next year (other than Middle School), please send an email to Ms. Deb as soon as you can. The sooner we can plan for our classrooms next year, the better.

Thanks!

May PTA Meeting

Monday, May 13th

5:00 - 6:00 PM - DTS Library

A special meet and greet/presentation from the Principals at Merrill and Callanan Middle School. Even if your student is not going to Middle School this next year, this would be a wonderful opportunity to connect with and start thinking about Middle School transition.

Girls on the Run

Our 3rd-5th grade girls who participated in the Girls on the Run program are reaching the end of their journey this year. The 5K is on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 pm at Water Works Park. If you're interested in cheering on the girls, we'd love to have you.

5th Grade Recognition Ceremony

We will be culminating our 5th graders experience at The Downtown School on Tuesday, June 18th in the Central Campus auditorium.

Students should arrive by 5:30 to prepare and our ceremony will begin at 6 PM with light refreshments to follow.

Book Character Day

Our May All School Sing will be our Book Character Day! For new families, this has always been a fun event where our students dress up as their favorite character from one of their favorite books.

Wednesday, May 22nd - 7:45 AM

Central Campus Auditorium

* Please note - Picture and Yearbook contracts were re-negotiated this year. In the past, yearbooks were negotiated for our students through the price of school pictures. Since this is a change this year, you should've seen a decrease in cost of picture orders but now need to order yearbooks separately.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Your wonderful PTA is planning a special week to appreciate our wonderful teachers!

We will be celebrating May 20th - May 23rd

Please click the link below to help out where you can. :-)
