PTA - Adopt a Teacher Funds
Through the following donations/fundraising, each DTS Teacher will be supported through our PTA for the amount listed below. Thank you for each donation. Our community rocks when it comes to supporting each other!
Adopt-a-teacher (December campaign- gifts from DTS families)- $2382
Class Supply Fund (funds budgeted via PTA)- $2000
Adopt-a-teacher (gift from '17-‘18 5th grade class)- $1165
Class room furniture (budgeted balance remaining for ‘18-‘19)-$2000
For a grand total of $7547 or $328.13 per teacher
Movie Night
Thank you for bringing in Box Tops for your student to vote for our movie this year! Incredibles 2 has been selected!

Meals from the Heartland
Downtown School is hosting a Meals from the Heartland Packaging Event on February 26,, 2019. Because this event is happening on site, we need raise $2100 in order to cover the cost of materials. How do you fit in? We could use your time, talents, and loose change! First, chaperones are needed on the event date to help support students as they package. In addition, there will be a Penny Drive taking place from Feb 1-25th. This is a great opportunity to unload all that loose change that collects in your sofa cushions, night stands, and coat pockets!
2019-2020 Calendar
Our District has just finalized their calendar this week. Our calendar will look very similar to what we're used to, but we will need to shift a few of our days to more appropriately align for Professional Development opportunities.
We need final Board Approval on a few dates we had to move around. Calendar should be released in the next 5-10 days.
Inclement Weather Make Up Days
We had 2 additional makeup days built into our schedule this school year, so at this point we will only need to make up 1 school day.
Our 1 makeup day at this point will be Thursday, April 18th.
The Downtown School Auction
Every other year, The Downtown School puts on an Auction for various products/services that our community has a connection to. This is by far our largest fundraiser! Our auction will be on April 12 at West End Salvage. In the meantime, we would LOVE if you could help us begin compiling the list of possible items/services to be auctioned off. Be thinking of a special experience you could provide another family, any connections to businesses that might want to donate something, or any other service or item that you think could bring in to generate some auction action!

PTA Membership and Dues
If you're interested in joining the PTA, the PTA dues are $10/family, and student activity fee ($15/student) support learning and enrichment activities throughout the year. These funds spare DTS families the typical school fundraising efforts like magazine, wrapping paper and cookie dough sales!

March 11th - Full PTA Meeting - 5 PM - Downtown School Library
