Now we have all that out of the way, we can start to configure the batch files.
Note:
* Don't route random ports to a second pc that are, also used on your gaming pc by other games , as this can cause problems that the devs of those games can't easily find and fix. So keep that in mind when port forwarding.
Example: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Steam: Uses the following ports
TCP: 27015-27030,27036-27037
UDP: 4380,27000-27031,27036
** Its not always needed to forward a port. specially if there are no other devices that use the port. Still it is always better to do so, for lower latency. When you forward a port make sure the pc is using a static IP. more on this topic can be found here
Note: When you use factorio 0.16.x or lower delete the following line: --server-adminlist "%FactorioRoot%%FactorioServerDirectory%%ServerConfigLocation%%Server-adminlist%"
0.16.x and lower does not use an admin file
First screen when you run the boot file. It holds at this screen, so you have time to check if the locations are correct. This is useful for bug fixing "writing errors".
You can use option 1 to replace the old files with a newer copy of facatorio.
When you used option 2 as the installation method, then option 1 is still a possible update date method. Or just run the Factorio-Update-Server v1.xx.bat
When you want to use the updater batch file and have not configured the Factorio-Update-Server v1.xx.bat follow the steps below to do so.
Ps: this process does not update your mods
Mods have to be copied by hand or use a rsync program to do so (always activate this manually)
