Mods and Map

Decision:

Before we can create a map, a decision has to be made for the server.

Will it be a modded server or a vanilla server ( no mods ).

The reason for this is that you need to select all the mods for the server, before you can generate the map. As some mods have an impact on what needs to be generated. An good example of this are the famous mods "Bob's mods", "Angels mods" and "Pyanodons mods" these mods add resources.

Generate a map for your server:

1. Boot Factorio
2. Click > New game
3. Click > Preview "now you can see a generation of the map.
4. Click > Auto refresh : This is optional
5. Change the settings in the tab Recourses, terrain, Enemy and Advanced, untill your happy with the generated map.
6. Click > Play
7. Open > the game menu
8. Click > Save game
9. Name your save file : Example "MapExample"
10. Close > Factorio
11. Open File explorer (Windows key + e)
12. Go to > c:\Users\"Username"\Appdata\Roaming\Factorio\save
13. Copy the save file we just made:
    • Example: MapExample.zip
14. Past this in the save folder of the server:
    • Example path: c:\factorio\server\Save
