This guide is created to help anyone that would like to setup a factorio headless windows server.

As it is for everyone, programming skills are not required to follow the guide, as all the needed files will be provided and just need to be changed as you see fit.

Setting up a factorio server on windows is not, very well documented as some would like it to be.

Meaning that for some this process is hard to follow or understand. For others its easier as they can compare it to something they already did in the past.

Even tho I have been running a dedicated server "privately" for myself, for a few years now. I kept lurking on forums, discord and reddit, to see if i could find improvements for my own server setup / code. Every time i saw a server related question, I started to read the comments to see, if there was anything useful for myself as well, sadly this was not the case.

Even worst for the people that were asking the questions, the replies were mostly useless or incomplete, at best they got the 1 or 2 line shortcut / batch-file code explained a little better, to boot-up the server. this is understandable as it can be a lot of info for just a simple forum reply.

Just booting the server is fine, for your first server, but sometimes you want a little more control.

With the instructions you will learn:

• What files need to be configured,
• Where you normally find these files
• How to configure and use the two provided batch files.

These 2 batch files will help boot/run the server more effectively and Update the factorio headless server ( excluding mods )
