INTRODUCTION
This assessment revisits my previous Design Studio project, the Interpretive Visitor Centre in Putrajaya, through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and design workflows. The original project was developed to communicate the history and transformation of Putrajaya, providing visitors with educational, cultural, and interactive experiences within a meaningful architectural environment.
The purpose of this reassessment is to critically evaluate the original design and explore how AI can support architectural thinking, design exploration, and informed decision-making. Various AI tools were used throughout the process to analyze site conditions, generate design alternatives, assess environmental performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Rather than replacing the role of the architect, AI was used as a collaborative tool to enhance creativity, efficiency, and critical reflection. The redesigned proposal demonstrates how AI-assisted workflows can contribute to a more sustainable, user-centered, and climate-responsive design while maintaining professional judgment and architectural intent.
