The Artificial Intelligence in the Built Environment course has been one of the most engaging and beneficial subjects I have undertaken throughout my architectural studies. During the semester, the course provided valuable insights into the growing influence of artificial intelligence and its applications within architecture and the built environment. It expanded my understanding of how emerging technologies can support architects and enhance the design process when applied thoughtfully and responsibly.
Throughout the course, we explored various topics such as AI fundamentals, generative design, environmental performance analysis, sustainability, ethical considerations, and professional responsibilities. These lessons helped me understand how AI can assist in research, data collection, design exploration, visualization, and decision-making. In particular, the redesign of the Cultural Passage project allowed me to investigate how AI-driven approaches could improve environmental responsiveness, sustainability, and user experience.
