This session explores practical applications of AI in English Language Teaching. We'll examine AI-powered tools for lesson planning, personalized learning, and assessment. Participants will learn to integrate AI effectively, enhance student engagement and learning, and implement AI-based strategies in ELT contexts, balancing innovation with pedagogical best practices.

Utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) tools in course design, participants will learn how to design and deliver a distance or blended course site with optimal content, tools, and scaffolding according to best practices and quality standards. This session focuses on task design and tools that can be applied at different levels of the SAMR Model. The SAMR model presents four levels of technology integration to progressively enhance teaching practice. Participants will analyze, discuss, evaluate and create digital tasks using various tools in different levels of integration.

Grammar for TESOL offers new and experienced TESOL teachers theoretical and practical insights into grammar teaching and learning. Through hands-on interactive content, participants are provided with multiple opportunities to develop and receive feedback on grammar instructional materials and error correction practices as they evaluate and utilize online and AI-generative technology.

During this 5-week session, participants gain hands-on experience creating language learning activities and tasks utilising AI-generated characters in Virtual Reality and virtual worlds. This session aims to enable participants to create a character, engineer prompts, build a virtual avatar and develop conversational activities with this AI companion for their classes.

Engagement, access to tools and digital literacy continue to be challenges in multilingual learning classrooms. Participants will explore different virtual, AI tools, and social media apps to promote virtual and in-person engagement. Participants will leave with ideas, techniques and activities to adapt to any context and/or classroom.
