There is no textbook for this course. All work will be based on video lectures and other resources/links provided for you.
We will be using Canvas for this course, so you will need access to a computer and the internet.
All live class discussions and office hours will take place live over Zoom. You can use Zoom through your web browser or through the app on your phone or tablet.
This is the dedicated Zoom link for our class; I suggest you bookmark it:

Word Processor: You will need to be able to create documents. If you do not have access to Microsoft Word, you can use a free word processing program, such as Google Docs.
PDF Reader: You will need to be able to view PDFs for this class. You can download a free PDF reader here, if you don't have one already on your computer: Adobe Reader.
There will be a few different types of assignments in this course. It is important that you understand each type in order to be successful in this course.
Most of the assignments will be PlayPosit videos that have assignments/questions embedded throughout them. You can learn more about PlayPosit in Module 0 of the Canvas course.
You will be assigned Canvas Discussions regularly. You will usually be asked to post a reply to a discussion prompt and reply to your classmates.
Instead of exams, this course will have "Reflection" assignments. These assignments will ask you to reflect on or analyze the material covered up to that point in the course. They will be untimed and open note.
As an incentive to stay on top of the coursework, if you have a 90% in the course by the Wednesday before the due date of the Reflection, you will be excused from having to do the Reflection without any effect on your grade.
Philosophy is a practice, not just a subject of study. To this end, you will be asked to complete a Practical Project by the end of the semester. More details can be found on the "Special Assignments" page.
You will be asked to attend one live class discussion per month, for a total of four. Each LCD lasts for forty minutes, so it is important to be on time. You may attend as many LCDs as you would like, beyond the four required; you can earn some extra credit for attending extra sessions.
The "Grades" page in Canvas displays your grades for all course work.
For PlayPosit assignments, I will respond to the entire class through announcements or a video message.
For Canvas discussions, I will often provide some written feedback to you in the "comments" area, which can be accessed by reviewing your submitted assignment, or from within your Grades page.
I will do my best to provide grades and feedback within 1 week of the due date.
