I'm a 23-year-old final year student at the Technical University of Kenya, pursuing a Diploma in Technology Fashion and Design. Currently, I'm completing my final attachment as part of my academic program.
Before university, I attended St. Cecilia Girls School-Mautuma for my secondary education, and my early education was at Butere Primary, where I completed eight years of schooling.
Passionate about fashion and design, I'm excited to bring my skills and knowledge to the industry after completing my diploma. The journey has been enriching, and I look forward to applying what I've learned in the real world of fashion.
My collection draws inspiration from African print, which beautifully incorporates culture into fashion. It reflects the sense of belonging and tradition, evoking elegance and happiness through a combination of black and bright colors. Specifically designed for a betrothal celebration for Kalenjin people, the use of orange represents confidence, optimism, warmth, and agreeableness, while black symbolizes our skin color.
The main goal of my collection is to empower young women, encouraging them to embrace their culture with confidence and boldness. They should be proud of their beauty and express themselves freely. In the past, women used to shave their hair to showcase their beauty and adorned themselves with accessories on their heads, necks, and waists. Today, both men and women should have the opportunity to express their thoughts, ideas, and creativity, fostering diverse talents and promoting harmonious relationships among people.
