Edgar Maigo Keng’ara, a talented Kenyan visual artist based in Kayole, Nairobi, is renowned for his remarkable drawings and paintings. He passionately explores Realism and Surrealism styles in his artworks, capturing the beauty of color and light with exquisite finesse. Introduced to painting by a friend during his time in high school, Edgar has since been utilizing both oil and acrylic paints to further develop his unique artistic vision, aiming to make every element of his paintings equally significant. He draws inspiration from artists like Zephaniah Lukamba, Pencilmaster Animation Kenya, Andrew Tischler, and Jono Dry. Edgar's journey in art also led him to learn how to paint Basketball Courts, guided by his mentor, Moses Musosi, founder of the Far East Basketball Association (FEBA). As one of the prominent young Kenyan artists, his works have been showcased at prestigious venues, including The German Embassy in Nairobi, FOTA Art show at the International School of Kenya, and African International University, among others.
