I am Cervin Onyango Ogendo, holding a Degree in Bachelor of Technology in Design (2015) and a Diploma in Art and Design, Graphic Option (2001).
With over 20 years of experience in Design for Screen printing, I was recognized by SGIA Specialty Graphic Imaging Association in 2008 and won the best logo designer award for the All African Conference of Churches 8th Assembly in Yaounde, Cameroon (2003). I hold a patent for an Interactive Learning Platform called (A+).
Currently, I am the CEO of Olele Garments Limited and E-net Publishers & Designs Limited.
Before Covid-19 disruptions, I successfully ran E-Net publishers, offering e-learning content development consultancy to top publishing houses in Kenya, with clients like Kenya Literature Bureau, The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, Oxford University Press, Longhorn Publishers, and institutions like The Makini School and The National Council for Law Reporting.
During the pandemic break, I ventured into developing artwork and printing materials for stitching shirts, which garnered a positive response on social media, leading to orders and suggestions for different garment designs and prints.
These disruptions led to the establishment of Olele Garments, where I now focus on creating unique and captivating designs and prints..
OLELE GARMENTS
Olele Garments Limited's profile of designs has expanded significantly. In 2021, as life returned to normalcy, we registered our company and embraced the new trend of online shopping, which had become the norm due to the increase in people working from home and the rise of delivery services. As the demand grew, we invested in more machines for clothes stitching and eventually expanded to producing shoes as well.
With the support of our growing clientele, we diversified our product range to include shoes, bags, kid's clothing, sandals, and trousers. Our commitment to high-quality, Made in Kenya products caught the attention of corporate clients who wanted to contribute to supporting local industries.
Notably, Olele Garments Limited has also played a significant role in supporting gender matters in the community. We have collaborated with NGOs like Dignitas Limited and Rescue Dada, providing school shoes to learners in slum areas and supporting the education of rehabilitated girls with uniforms and shoes.
In terms of employment and empowerment, our company has created job opportunities for individuals trained in graphic design, fashion design, and printing. We also offer internship opportunities to trainees from various fashion, graphic design, and leather technology colleges, contributing to their professional development.
Our approach to garment decoration and pattern consistency is innovative and simplified, ensuring we can create beautiful repeat patterns without relying on heavy machinery. While embracing advanced 3D modeling technologies and digital pattern plotter cutting, we continue to uphold the vision of making Made in Kenya garments a preferred choice worldwide and building a brand identity that will have a lasting impact beyond our time.
As we continue to grow, our dedication to contributing positively to gender matters remains unwavering, empowering individuals, especially women, through opportunities for employment, skill development, and support for education.
