ABOUT US

Ana Garcia-Hernandez is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Climate Change and Development research unit at RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research and a Policy and Research Manager at J-PAL Europe. Previously she was a postdoc at the University of Rosario (Colombia) and Innovations for Poverty Action Colombia and a research fellow in the Institutions and Political Inequality research unit at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (Berlin Social Science Center). She has field research experience in Uganda, Colombia, Mozambique, and Zambia. Ana uses field experiments to understand the barriers girls and women face in developing countries. Ana co-organizes the Network on Research Ethics Network (Nethix) seminar series.

Lennart Kaplan is a researcher at the University of Göttingen and associate researcher of the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) as well as the Institute for the World Economy (IfW, Kiel). He conducted mixed-methods field research in the area of public health in Indonesia. He currently co-organizes the Digital Development Dialogue, which brings together development research and practice.  

Jana Kuhnt is a researcher at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS). She has conducted a randomized controlled trial in Pakistan and quantitative as well as qualitative field research in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda with a focus on migrant and refugee populations.

Janina Steinert is an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Munich and an Associate Researcher at the University of Oxford. She has worked on two mixed-methods randomized controlled trials in the fields of global health and development economics in India and South Africa.
