We have conducted a quantitative survey among research staff to shed light on the working conditions, job satisfaction, and emotional wellbeing of local and international research staff.
The survey provides further insight the prevalence of ethical challenges and failures experienced by research staff. It offers quantifiable data on the impact of the current research environment on individuals involved in development research. Information on respondents’ sociodemographic background, country of origin, gender, age, and hierarchical position within the research project allowed us to identify specific challenges faced by each group of researchers.
The paper covering the results of this survey is currently under review.
