Google Arts & Culture is an application that allows students and teachers to experience art, history and culture directly in the classroom. By giving the app access to the device’s camera, students can explore renowned creations from across the globe.
Reality Check is the main page that displays the augmented reality features offered by Google Arts and Culture. Animals, space, ancient artifacts, effects of climate change are themes that can be explored by using the Art Projector and Pocket Gallery features.
This feature allows teachers to transform their classroom into an art museum. With the application, students can make works of art appear on the classroom walls by using augmented reality. Art Projector allows students to get a sense of scale and see the colours and the textures of the art.
This feature enables students to visit virtual exhibitions. Art or artifacts of the selected gallery are projected in the classroom. Students can tap and zoom in on a piece of art work to get access to more details. An audio guide feature is also available for selected exhibitions.
