In order to create multiple habitat models for seven radio-collared coyotes in the Dugway, Utah area, we gathered data recorded from Bryan Kluever at Utah State University and created an initial overview of the home ranges, or total areas of activity, for the coyotes. The Coyote Activity Overview shows the recorded location points for each coyote as well as their calculated home ranges. In order to calculate the core range, or area where each animal spends over 50% of its time, we used geoprocessing tools such as Extract Values to Points, Reclassify, Raster to Polygon, as well as Calculate Geometry. Once finished with our data analysis, we created individual maps of each coyote's home and core ranges, as shown below.Â
