Daymap Messaging is one of Daymap’s communication tools, to facilitate interactions between staff, parents/guardians and students. It can be accessed from the Day Plan, My Portfolio and navigating the menu to communications > my messages.
This Page displays all communication between you and other Daymap users.
To view a Message and all replies, double click on a Message or select the preferred Message and click the View icon. From this screen, you can also reply to or delete Messages.
You have the ability to sort Messages and Posts by Class Group by clicking on the preferred Group on the left side of the Page.
All sent, deleted and draft Messages and Posts can be viewed using the Tabs down the left side. The action icons across the top of the Daymap Messages Page are present in each Tab.
Please be aware that all Messages sent and received are recorded and accessible by School Administrators.
Posts are threaded discussions which can be used for group discussion. All replies are visible to all recipients of the Post.
Posts are easily recognisable with the newspaper icon.
The purpose of Posts is to generate a discussion between a group of Daymap users, often within a class, with each response accessible by all group members.
Class posts also appear in the Class Posts tab of the Class Page.
Daymap Messages are private messages which can be sent to individual recipients, either staff, student or parent. School administration controls whether students and staff can reply and whether their replies are visible to all recipients or only the author. With school permission, Messages can also be sent to groups of people in Daymap.
Personal Daymap Messages are recognisable by the speech bubble icons.
Daymap Messages serve a similar function to email, with the added benefit of historical tracking of communication between Daymap users, even after a user is no longer connected to the school.
Website links and file attachments can be sent to recipients through Daymap Messages. Simply click the New Message icon and then the Attach button.
An icon will appear in all areas of Daymap to indicate you have a new message. Clicking the icon will take you to the Daymap Messages Page to view the new Message.
