For this project I was instructed to find, explore, create, and ethically share different types of digital media. One of the media types had to be found on Creative Commons, one had to be created and the other two could be from anywhere as long as full credit and licensing information was included.
This is a photo I took out on my balcony in 2016. The photo captures a calm winter scene outside my apartment, with a layer of snow covering the ground and flakes still drifting down. The cold, quiet landscape contrasts with the warm message written on the image: “Cold outside, cozy inside.” The quote adds a comforting touch, highlighting the peaceful feeling of watching the snowfall from a warm, inviting space indoors.

This is an example of an embedded video. I obtained the embed code on YouTube and embedded it into my project. I did not see any information on usage policy of licensing.
The video shows a day in the life of -71 degrees in Yakutia, Siberia. Kium B, the creator, is a blogger that is a native Siberian who walks you through what it's like to live in the coldest town on Earth.

To the left is an audio clip of an impersonation of someone who is freezing cold.
The audio clip is WAV file. I downloaded the video and then used the URL provided to embed onto the website. The file was found on Creative Commons.

This is an example of an animation from Giphy.
An animated GIF is a simple type of image file that contains multiple frames, displayed in sequence, to create the illusion of motion—basically a tiny looping animation.
I saved this straight from Giphy to my computer and uploaded it to my project.

While working on this project, I realized just how much I’ve learned—and honestly, it’s been exciting! I figured out how to track down licensing information and how to properly display different types of digital media, which is something I never would have even thought about before this class. I also discovered Creative Commons for the first time, and that opened up a whole new world I didn’t even know existed before this project.
