Challenge:
Design a way to increase graywater use (reuse water) at Pitt. (landscaping, dorms, cleaning).
Summary:
We were tasked to design a way to increase greywater at pitt. Due to greywater being wasted we decided as a team to focus on reducing water use in genearl. With this task set in mind we began to design different types of filters and ways to motivate students to watch there water consumption along with inform them on how greywater recycling works.
This is my personal prototype that is focused on creating trust in the greywater filtration system. This system uses sensor and other devices to read the water and divert it based on data collected into seperate places. This data is then sent to a website in which students and staff can monitor the water quality and other data collected
This presentation showcases our groups prototypes as a group. These prototypes include a natrual filtration system that uses natrual matriels to filt greywater being pulled by gravity, another uses a filter to filter water using gravity as well, and another which uses two pipes and a smart level to split clean and dirty water into seprate pipe networks along with a website used to track water cleanliness and filter status
This image shows the initial skecth of my prototype along with our teams final prototype
