My Home

South Huntington School district was where i attended high school. Walt Whitman High School. In this school district all kids had the opportunity of a good education i would say, but the physical marker divide that separated the well to do neighborhoods and everyone else including minorities was based on an income level. Those families with better financial status lived on a certain part of town while others with lower incomes lived in another part of town. Overall it was a great experience when in high school both social classes came together and shared classrooms. Although some kept to their "own" others seemed to be all inclusive and seemed to learn from one another, an experience that benefited both sides. The quality of education in my opinion was amazing and a great experience i'm thankful for.

In my part of the neighborhood there was liquor store (middle photo) where the working class would come to purchase their liquor after work and it would be more active during the weekends. The last photo shows a small convenience store where groups of people in particular minorities would gather to play the lottery at all times of the day.
