New local plan system launching early 2026: latest update.
The Government have launched a consultation on the four substantive proposals submitted for Greater Lincolnshire. The consultation is seeking views from individual Councils, residents and organisations from within Greater Lincolnshire. The consultation runs from the 5th of February to the 26th of March 2026. You can have your say here.

North Lincolnshire Council are developing a new Local Plan. Details will be updated here in due course.
North Humber to High Marnham upgrade new powerlines and pylons will be erected in areas from north of Hull to Nottinghamshire, which includes travelling through Epworth and the Isle of Axholme.

The Humber Carbon Capture Pipeline is a proposed onshore pipeline that would transport carbon dioxide produced by industrial projects in the Humber region to secure offshore storage under the North Sea.
While this project does not immediately impact residents of Epworth, construction traffic, underground pipelines and above land installations will be present in the Isle of Axholme, as well as a connection to the Keadby Power Station. November 2025: PA/SCR/2025/1454 EIA screening request for : A) Hardstanding and compound of approximately 21,060m2 (2.1ha) for welfare, equipment laydown, drill entry point, retention pond, topsoil and subsoil storage bunds, and parking. B) Two temporary access tracks linking the compound to the local road network. C) Area of underground development within the compound that incorporates the insertion of approximately 50m of 42" diameter metal casing to guide the drill through unstable soils. D) Installation of a section of 3 to 4.5" (outer diameter) steel pipe sleeve through the whole length of the HDD under the river Humber.
January 2026: PA/2025/1598 Planning permission for a hardstanding and compound of approximately 21,060m2 (2.1ha) for welfare, equipment laydown, drill entry point, retention pond, topsoil and subsoil storage bunds, parking and two temporary access tracks linking the compound to the local road network, and associated infrastructure in connection to the horizonal directional drill (HDD) bore under the River Humber.
