Live and work on a Norwegian farm (goats + practical farm work)

Full-time position with housing — job share possible (couple welcome)

We are offering a full-time position for a practical and reliable person — or a couple who want to share the job — on a goat farm and two nearby farms in rural Norway. This is real farm life: varied work, responsibility, and a chance to learn quickly in a setting with space, calm, and strong everyday structure.

Language is not the main thing. We care more about work ethic, responsibility, and practical ability. If you are young and inexperienced but highly motivated, you are welcome to apply.

What we offer

• 37.5 hours/week (full-time equivalent) — can be shared by two people (e.g. 50/50 or by agreement)
  
  

• NOK 185/hour (employment handled through the local relief worker organisation / Avløserlaget)
  
  

• Housing available in a house on the property (suitable for a couple; details by agreement)
  
  

• 6-month contract, possible extension if the farm is not sold
  
  

• Application deadline: 15 March 2026
  
  

• For the right person/couple: a chance to try the farm life with a view to a possible purchase if it feels right
  
  

Typical work (seasonal and varied)

Farm & animals

• Daily routines and general farm work
  
  

• Goat/kid care as needed (experience is a plus, not required)
  
  

Maintenance & “keeping things running”

• Small repairs, simple carpentry, practical problem solving
  
  

• Fences, feeding systems, water systems, cleaning and upkeep
  
  

• Winter routines and seasonal preparation
  
  

Machines

• Tractor work and basic machine tasks depending on your skill level

• Reliable and steady — you show up and finish what you start

• Able to work physically and outdoors in all kinds of weather
  
  

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  
  

Requirements (must have)

• Driving licence (car)
  
  

• Tractor driving competence/experience
  
  

• Physical ability for farm work
  
  

Big plus (not required)

• Goat, milking or cheesemaking experience
  
  

• Carpentry/maintenance background
  
  

• Previous farm work
