Community

Poetry, animation, and sound come together to voice ideas about empowering youth to understand family, friends, and loved ones. Topics like mental health, feeling safe, acceptance, and self-care. We collaborated with The Diatribe, A Grand Rapids Poet Laureate, and the Grand Rapids Youth Center to voice these powerful messages.

The Diatribe

This live-action video was shot and edited for the Spoken Word Poetry community activist group called The Diatribe. It provides an emotional and succinct overview of what The Diatribe is all about.

The Creative Youth Center Animate Poems

We animated these spoken word poems written and performed by middle school students at the Grand Rapids Creative Youth Center. They aim to amplify the voices of these powerful young people.

Aim At Houdini

This animation ensemble interprets the poem titled "Aim At Houdini" written and performed by Fable The Poet (A Grand Rapids Poet Laureate). He travels to middle schools, high schools, and colleges to perform his poetry and lead discussions and workshops centered around mental health.
