CONTENT MAPS

A content map is used to help designers organize the text, pictures, video, etc. that will be included in the website. Content maps begin with primary categories and then branch out to secondary categories of information. This is sometimes called “information architecture”. The example below shows a content map for a simple website that has been "marked-up" by a lead designer.

Some content maps can be very complex, like the the one shown below for an app called "Survive Global Climate Change", created by KCAD students as part of the EPIC project.
