In Elche there are lots of birds, and also living in the pantano de Elche there are wild pigs and otters. There are also snakes, many insects, and in the waters close by there are lots of different fish.

There are a lot of palm trees in Elche. There are more palm trees than anywhere in Europe. Elche also has some wild flowers that grow, but not many different species of trees.
