Autumn Marie Carr
A mother, a sister, and my auntie. That's who Autumn Carr was to me and to my family. We lost her back in 2021, and we mourn and miss her every day. But we still live on even without her, and this podcast is here to truly honor her memory.
"One day I'll take you to see the faeries," she rasped to me, the odor of her cigarettes filling our space in her house. My childhood mind filled with a sense of wonder so strong my fingers tingled at the thought of going. "But not today, I'm too tired to drive all the way out there." I understood. She was always in some sort of pain. "Next time, honey," though it seems like we missed our chance for next time. I still hope to see the faeries someday. Maybe she'll be there too.
My aunt meant a lot to me, and she will forever. I wanted to immortalize that with this project by talking about her.Â
My aunt loved faeries and magic.
Other than myself, my aunt was the only one in her family to have blue eyes.
My aunt loved to torture her younger siblings when they were all kids.
