The Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, Maejo University actively develops international collaborations with universities and institutions around the world. These partnerships aim to enhance academic cooperation, research collaboration, student mobility, and cultural exchange. Through international programs, students and staff gain valuable global experience and broaden their perspectives in agricultural engineering, food engineering, and related fields.
Our international network provides opportunities for students to participate in exchange programs, internships, cooperative education, and research activities with partner universities across Asia and North America.
Thailand–Taiwan Internship Program (NPUST & NCHU)
Nine exchange students from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) and National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan, participated in a 36-day internship program at Maejo University (July 7 – August 11, 2025) under the New Southbound Overseas Internship Program supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
Students focused on Biochar and Sustainable Applications, as well as Smart Farming and IoT in Precision Agriculture. Through five learning stations, they developed hands-on skills, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving abilities.
At the end of the program, students presented their work and shared reflections, demonstrating both technical growth and global perspectives.

Welcoming Ceremony – Taiwan Students
On July 7, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, Maejo University welcomed students and faculty members from Taiwan under the internship program.
The ceremony was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tithinun Rattanaplome, together with faculty members from the Agricultural Engineering program. This marked the beginning of international collaboration and cross-cultural learning.

ARC2025 International Competition – 26 Awards Achievement
Students from the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, Maejo University achieved outstanding success on the international stage by winning 26 awards at the 11th Southeast Asian Agricultural and Food Engineering Student Chapter Annual Regional Convention 2025 (ARC2025).
The event was held from February 23–27, 2025, in collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Agricultural and Food Engineers (MSAE), under the theme “Intelligent Agriculture and Novelty in Agrofood Industry for Wellness.”
A total of 142 participants from Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia joined the competition, representing leading universities across the region. Maejo University students demonstrated excellence in engineering and agro-industry innovation through competitions, poster presentations, and team challenges.

This achievement reflects the strong academic and innovation capabilities of Maejo University students and reinforces their readiness to compete at the global level.
Two fourth-year students from the Postharvest Technology program,
Miss Ravikan Wutthirat and Miss Sukanda Saeheng, were awarded a scholarship jointly supported by Oklahoma State University and the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, Maejo University.
The students participated in an international internship program under the course "WO 499" at Oklahoma State University, United States, under the supervision of Patricia Rayas-Duarte.
This internship was conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2019, providing students with valuable international academic and research experience.
The Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, Maejo University, is pleased to warmly welcome Adim and Dinda, exchange students from Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia.
During December 2019, they joined the faculty to work on their research projects as part of their academic program. Their visit reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening international collaboration and academic exchange between institutions.
Throughout their stay, the students actively engaged in research activities and contributed to knowledge sharing within the program. Their work also showcased innovative product development, which was well received for its quality and unique characteristics.
This exchange experience provided valuable opportunities for both students and faculty members to collaborate, share ideas, and enhance global perspectives in education and research.
The Faculty regularly welcomes international students who participate in academic visits, laboratory activities, cultural exchange, and industrial study tours.
In November 2010, five students from the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia, participated in a student mobility program at Maejo University from November 20 to December 4, 2010. During their stay, the students attended lectures, visited laboratories, and participated in cultural and academic activities.
The program also provided opportunities for discussions on future academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry also provides internship opportunities for international students.
In January 2010, three senior students from the College of Home Science and Industry, Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Philippines, joined an internship program at Maejo University from January 18 to March 12, 2010. The program allowed students to gain practical experience and complete their field practice requirements prior to graduation.
The internship program strengthens academic cooperation and promotes practical learning experiences in agro-industry and food science.
