jagged rod being sanded into a cylinder
shaped bracelet band
My bracelet came out better than I expected; it looks very similar to the design I drew up. Initially, I was very hesitant to bring this project to Mr. Suter because I thought it was too ambitious. However, I took a leap of faith and decided to make the bracelet anyways. To my surprise, the bracelet almost came to shape by the Friday before the break. A big issue that kept me from finishing the bracelet was the "button" that was supposed to hold the clock hand and face together kept melting together (from the solder) with the clock hand that was supposed to spin freely on it.
The clock was pretty easy to shape. It took very little time to make the face, arrow, and bracelet band. However, the button was very difficult to work with. The washer that was connected to the hand hung too loose around the button, the cylinder of the button was very hard to make, and the button had too much solder. To top it off, the solder was mislabeled and was not actually medium, but seemed to be easy or extra easy, so I had a lot of trouble soldering the clock together. I learned that my soldering technique definitely could have been improved on during this process.
