This is version one of my nut and bolt sorter assembly. After adding the walls of the bow that contained the nuts and bolts, the assembly broke, so after hours of frustration, I restarted with a new one.
This is the final assembly! It still has room for improvement as I have not been able to figure out how to configure the two rotating arms.
This is the final, complete assembly of my nut and bolt sorter. It shakes in both dimensions. There is a lot that can be improved on. Provided is a see-through picture to show how the cut-outs in the box look.
Featured are videos of my first tries at my nut and bolt sorter prototype.
To the left are pictures of the nuts and bolts I used for this trial. To the right is a video of the nut and bolt sorter being shaken with more items than the first trial.
To the left is a picture of the nut and bolt sorter before it was shaken. To the left is a picture of what came out of the nut and bolt sorter after it was shaken. As you can see, the nut and bolt sorter is not perfect, but it is most likely due to the material being used. The plastic box is flexible, but a metal or wooden box would be sturdy and sort the materials much more efficiently.
