ASL II Lesson Plan

Week 1/10/ 2022

I. Objectives for the week:

Numbers Focus: Staff will review numbers with years and dates from wkbk. pg. 103 and do practice work with a partner on pgs. 103 #12,#13, with a no voice practice.

Vocab focus: The staff will continue reviewing vocab from units 4 from the textbook pg. 120. Staff will do practice exercises on page 124 Classroom ex. B #1&2 to reinforce vocabulary learning with a partner.

Agent Marker Review: In class we will review all the age spot placement and practice using ages in sentences pg. 175 Classroom ex. F #1, #2, #3

Background information Review: Textbook pg. 181 we will review how to give a person’s background information and introduce them. Staff will practice with a partner Pg. 180 Classroom ex. L #1&2, with no voices.

Exercise I to accomplish objective:

We will do partner work where staff will work in Classroom ex. L from pg. 181 #1, #2. Staff will practice both sides of questions and Answers.

Exercise II to accomplish objective:

In this exercise staff will focus on partner exercises from the book that review the vocabulary covered in class. Pg. 188 Class ex. P #1 dialog

Measures of Success

Assessment of staff success will take place as staff member are able to recall vocab during a question and answer period.

Assessment of staff success will be determined as staff are able produce the number 0-1,000,000 on their own without prompting or help from the book. As well staff will be able to produce numbers with years and dates on their own with proper palm orientation.

Assessment of staff comprehension staff will successfully complete the nine sentences from pg. 189 using the sentences from the text Unit 5. Staff will be able to complete the sentences from pg. 189 Classroom ex. Q #2, #3.

Materials for class:

The Master ASL text book and work book will be used in some of the teachings in the classes along side of the Conversational Sign Language II book

Video Section

This Video focuses on those signs related to vocabulary concerning various family members from Unit 4 text

This video focuses on some practice sentences from Unit 4 with sentences the use signs concerning gender distinction. These are signs such as son and daughter which are produced at various locations on the head.

This video deals with shoulder shifting techniques. I discuss the purpose for using shoulder shifting and give a few practice examples. When using shoulder shifting be sure to keep your ideas organized spatially. Allow enough space between the items you are organizing so that it is clear to your audience.
