ASL I Lesson Plan

Week 1/10/ 2022

I. Objectives for the week:

Numbers Focus: Staff will review numbers with years and dates from wkbk pg. 89 and do practice work with a partner on pgs. 90 #13 & #14 on rounding and estimates of numbers.

Vocab focus: The staff will review vocab from unit 4 from the textbook pgs. 137-145. Staff will do practice exercises on pages 148 Classroom ex. Q #1 & #2 to reinforce vocabulary learning with a partner.

Conjugating: To go: In class we will discuss the variations and uses of “to go”. We will discuss pg. 147 from the textbook.

Listing and Ordering technique: Textbook pg. 138 we will review the uses for listing and use of space concerning the listing and ordering skill. Once again staff will practice with partners Class ex. K pg. 139.

Exercise I to accomplish objective:

We will do partner work where staff will work in Classroom ex. J from pg. 142 #1 & #2. Staff will practice both sides of conversation.

Exercise II to accomplish objective:

In this exercise staff will focus on partner exercises from the book that review the vocabulary covered in class. Textbook Pg. 144, Friends and relationships dialog.

Measures of Success

Assessment of staff success will take place as staff member are able to recall vocab during a question and answer period.

Assessment of staff success will be determined as staff are able produce the numbers various listing and ordering techniques on their own without prompting or help from the book. As well staff will be able to produce numbers with years and dates on their own with proper palm orientation.

Assessment of staff comprehension staff will successfully complete the sentences from pg. 145 in the textbook.

Materials for class:

The Master ASL text book and work book will be used in some of the teachings in the classes along side of the Conversational Sign Language II book
