The French Red Cross works to sustainably improve the health of communities, mitigate the health impacts of crises and strengthen health systems, in support of partner National Societies. Its strategy is built around four core areas of expertise, designed to address three major global humanitarian challenges: global health security, quality of care and access to healthcare.
The four core areas of expertise are:
Le Strengthening health systems, with a focus on building the capacity of health personnel, developing robust health information systems and improving hospital governance.
Epidemic and infectious disease preparedness and response, with recognised expertise within the Movement in prevention, early detection and the management of health emergencies, including support for the development of epidemiological surveillance systems.
Sexual and reproductive health, encompassing both prevention and care in gender-based violence, with particular attention to vulnerable, migrant and displaced populations.
Primary healthcare and nutrition, with a particular focus on food and nutrition insecurity and the health of people on the move, while adopting an integrated approach to ensure more sustainable responses.

Across all its health projects, the French Red Cross draws on complementary, integrated expertise where relevant, to enhance the quality and effectiveness of its interventions:
These areas of expertise can be deployed in a targeted manner at national or regional level and integrated into projects in line with needs identified in the field.
Health is a key component of the French Red Cross’s international strategy, integrated with other humanitarian priorities, particularly disaster risk management (DRM) and the development of National Society capacities (NSD).
The logical frameworks for priority sectors are aligned with the international strategy of the French Red Cross. They set out the guiding principles for the key actions to be implemented in the field. Rather than providing an exhaustive or restrictive list of activities, these frameworks highlight those requiring particular attention. They serve as practical working tools and can be widely shared.
We encourage you to explore the logical framework specific to health in order to gain a deeper understanding of the actions carried out in this key sector.
