Cross-cutting approaches in Disaster Risk Management are vital, as they address a range of crucial dimensions. By integrating data from gender studies, these approaches support a clearer understanding of the specific needs of different population groups, helping to ensure inclusive and equitable protection—particularly for the most vulnerable.
At the same time, using environmental analysis tools such as NEAT (Nexus Environmental Assessment Tool) and EcoSan allows for a broader view of the environmental impacts of disasters, promoting more sustainable and resilient planning. Furthermore, the integration of nutrition security into these cross-cutting approaches ensures that the food needs of affected communities are adequately addressed, strengthening their ability to cope with crises.
