A Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is a tool that outlines the processes and measures needed to ensure the continuity of operations, even at a reduced level, for a business or public service (such as a school or health centre) following a disaster.
It aims to guarantee organisational resilience by identifying critical functions, assessing potential risks and developing strategies and response protocols. The plan typically includes crisis management procedures, alert mechanisms and internal and external communication strategies to ensure a rapid and coordinated response in the event of a major incident.
