Nature-based Solutions (NbS)

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are “actions to protect, sustainably manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems, which effectively and adaptively address societal challenges while simultaneously providing benefits for human well-being and biodiversity” (IUCN, 2016).

NbS encompass a range of approaches, including ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR), Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) for climate change mitigation and adaptation and overall environmental management.
