The Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (EVCA) is a participatory tool developed by the RCRC Movement to help communities become more resilient. It uses historical profiles, participatory mapping, seasonal calendars and other approaches to identify the hazards communities face and the actions needed to reduce these risks.
To strengthen a culture of risk, especially among future generations, FRC continues its efforts to integrate DRR into the education sector. This is achieved through programmes at the primary level (such as Paré pas Paré-“Ready or Not”), secondary level (including Comprehensive School Safety, Eco-School and Y-Adapt) and in higher education, where partnerships with universities and research institutes are being established to support the capacity-building and expansion of the DRR practitioner community.
